MileMark: Mileage Log

MileMark is a mileage log that knows what a kilometre is worth. Built for people who drive for work in Canada and the United States, it estimates the value of every business trip from official reference rates the moment you log it, on iPhone and iPad.

TAP, DRIVE, LOG Start the trip timer when you roll, enter the distance when you park. Manual logging means no GPS, no location permission, and no battery drain. Prefer to type it in later? Manual entry takes seconds, in km or miles. Ask Siri or use the Shortcuts app to jump straight into a new trip.

OFFICIAL RATE PERIODS, WITH DATES AND SOURCES MileMark ships the official reference rates as effective-dated periods with their source links and verification dates: the IRS standard business mileage rate (including the midyear July 1, 2026 change) and the CRA prescribed automobile allowance rates, with separate rates for Canadian provinces and territories and the 5,000 km annual tier tracked trip by trip. Dates outside a known period stay unpriced until you verify a rate, and your own verified values live as separate versioned entries that never overwrite the official rows. Every amount is an estimate from reference rates or your own values; MileMark is a recording tool, not tax advice, and it does not decide what you can claim.

HISTORY THAT NEVER SHIFTS UNDER YOU Every trip saves its own jurisdiction, currency, local date, and applied rate. Editing a vehicle, changing your device language or region, or travelling never silently reprices what you already logged. Canadian and United States totals always stay separate.

BUSINESS OR PERSONAL One switch on every trip. Personal kilometres stay in the log for a defensible business-use share; only business distance gets an estimate.

SAVED ROUTES Save the drives you repeat ("Home to Client A", "Downtown delivery loop") and log them again in one tap.

A PRIVATE WIDGET The home screen widget shows this month's trip count and a Log Trip button. Your business distance and estimated amounts appear on it only if you turn them on in Settings.

SEARCH, FILTERS, AND SUBSTANTIATION Find trips by purpose, vehicle, classification, missing evidence, or missing rate. Attach odometer readings and photos so the distance behind an estimate is backed by more than your word.

ACCOUNTANT EXPORTS AND IMPORTS One tap produces a clean CSV of every trip, a monthly PDF estimate report, and a year-to-date PDF by quarter and by vehicle. Each report is remembered with the exact rates and calculation revision it used. Bring older trips back from a MileMark CSV through a safe preview that shows exactly what will be added before anything changes.
